Jacob’s eyes flickered coldly, but he suppressed his urge to berate Nyx and patiently said, "Alright, I may have overreacted without knowing your circumstances, and probably because I’m still being influenced by the Primary Nightmare. Still, I apologize for my rash behavior."
"H-Huh?" Nyx’s voice cracked with shock and disbelief as she even seemed to forget her anger and stammered, "W...wait! Did you just apologize to...me?!"
Jacob’s tone turned icy as he retorted, "Don’t take a mile when I’m giving you an inch. Now, tell me exactly what is happening in the Legendary Plains and the Virtual Star Network?"
"What kind of attitude is this? Is this how you seek someone’s forgiveness?" Nyx was flabbergasted as she retorted and protested high-heartedly.
"Do you really want to test my patience?"
"Tsk, but you still apologized, heh, I’ll take that as a win."
Nyx knew deep down that even this superficial apology was a huge progress since it was coming from Jacob, as he would normally start threatening her even if she threw a tantrum. This means, Jacob at least start treating her more like an equal instead of some tool.
It might be the result of Jacob personally experiencing her world and finally noticing her worth and the struggles she needed to go through. But no matter what, she was very pleased and joyous, even with this small gesture of empathy.
Jacob’s eyes start flickering with impatience as he gets even more annoyed by Nyx’s tone for some reason, and he now fully believes that he was being influenced by that backlash.
"Ahem, what happened exactly is..."
Nyx also seemed to notice that she had used up all her luck today, and quickly started explaining to keep Jacob calm and not to annoy him any further.
Jacob remained silent and no longer brought up this topic while impassively listening to the transpiring events of the Legendary Palins to this day.
"Well, it all started around the time you started going through the Fragmented Dreams and Nightmares independently. It began with the Undead Skyfall Canyons of the Sagittarius Continent, which you also told me to keep an eye on, undergoing a massive upheaval."
Jacob’s eyes flickered with surprise, "The Undead Skyfall Canyons again? What happened, and is there any news about Elia?"
"Yet you remember her, huh?" Nyx muttered under her breath with a hint of aggravation as she continued, "As I’ve already told you about the war of the Life and Dead factions going sideways because they seemed to have provoked some mysterious existence of the Undead Skyfall Canyon.
"However, it wasn’t so bad since it was only limited to the Sagittarius Continent, and everyone else was doing just fine while those factions started to move on with new leadership.
"Moreover, out of three absolute factions, only the Neutral Faction should’ve had their entire forces intact, but a certain someone ’visited’ the Dark Kingdom and Cardinal Spirit Temple, and so the Zodiac Night Federation became the strongest of all the Factions."
The flaming in Jacob’s hollowed sockets twitched slightly as he clearly knew Nyx was talking about him, but he remained silent and continued to listen.
"At least they were for a little while, until out of nowhere a terrifying organization called the Mythical Coalition paid them a ’visit’. Apparently, the Mythical Coalition is an organization merely consisted of..."
"Quasi-Myths!" Jacob completed Nyx’s sentence with a hint of astonishment.
"Oh, I had a feeling that you already knew about them, and I was right." Nyx didn’t find this surprising, as Jacob had a knack for coming in contact with all sorts of troublesome entities.
"No, I just know this much, even that from the Holy Justice King." Jacob explained as his voice was filled with curiosity, "But she also told me that the Mythical Coalition was a hidden organization that was made to keep the Quasi-Myths in check and keep the peace of the Legendary Plains intact.
"So, why did they reveal themselves to the Zodiac Night Federation, much less the information seemed to be spread enough to even reach you. And what did they have to do with the Undead Skyfall Canyons?"
"So that’s how it is." Nyx seemed to be nodding in understanding, "Well, you are not wrong about them being a secret organization, at least they were until they decided to stop being one.
"Apparently, it seemed to have all started with their sudden ’visit’ to the Zodiac Night Federation, and the reason behind it was to detain a guy named ’Nell’, who at that time was considered the genius of the Zodiac Night Federation.
"But in truth, that guy turned out to be a spy from the ATLAS, and on top of that, he was the Leader of the Star Hackers. Moreover, he, a Tier-1 Legendary King, managed to escape from the clutches of two Quasi-Myths, Myth of Thunder and Myth of Inferno, of Mythical Coalition."
Jacob was astounded, not because there was another remnant of ATLAS out there, as he knew even after annihilating the entire Timeless City and taking away their Machina Unit, there should be more Constant of ATLAS or their minions scattered throughout the Legendary Plains.
Instead, he was surprised by Nyx’s knowledge of these events, which should’ve been a huge secret, as even if rumors spread across the Virtual Star Network, she shouldn’t know this much. It was as if she had been witnessing this whole thing.
"What is your source of information?" Jacob had to ask this, as he had become even more interested in these events.
"Heh, had you forgotten who I am?" Nyx proudly stated, "Of course, I shouldn’t know this much, but when the rumors started to spread, and those guys started to make waves.
"I became curious and targeted one of the Legendary Kings of the Federation. The rest was easy, as I’ve done the same that you’ve been doing, but my task was pretty easy, except it took a week more to devour his entire Dreamscape.
"Nonetheless, it still turned out pretty well as that guy was one of many higher-ups of the Federation who had witnessed the entire event with his own eyes and also the aftermath, which changed the entire trajectory of the Legendary Palins!"
