Dragon Genesis: I Can Create Dragons

Chapter 630: I would have preferred a fairer battle.

Kael thought the Shield Lines would be able to hold on for 15 minutes without suffering any heavy casualties, so he was on time but...

He was wrong.

The Shield Lines could not hold on.

The enemy breached the Shield Lines despite Lavinia and others’ best efforts and... the alliance troops were being massacred.

It was all happening because of him.

And as Kael saw the carnage under him with his own eyes, the river of blood that had already soaked the snow, his people screaming in fear and agony as the enemy sliced them down.

His face turned heavy.

He made a mistake.

It was his fault.

If only he hadn’t taken away so many troops—

If only he hadn’t fallen into the enemy’s trap—

If only he had left the army behind sooner—

But the next instant, Kael stopped those thoughts.

This was not the time to spiral into self-loathing.

Yes, people died because of his decision, but that did not mean more had to die. He needed to move and he needed to move right now.

"Igni."

He called out as he crouched on top of him.

"Yes, father."

Igni prepared himself, then Kael used him as a platform and jumped forward.

And without waiting a second longer, he pushed himself with everything he had—

[Skill: Draconic Surge]

He activated his second ability, Mana moved through his body, the battlefield around him slowed and he—

He turned into a blurry figure as he moved at a ridiculous speed and—

BOOOOOM

He landed in the middle of the battlefield.

And that was it—

That was all the time his Roar of Dominion could buy him, the enemy started moving again and this time, the moment he landed, many of them, for some reason, rushed towards him.

"Good."

Kael nodded at that sight as he took out his sword. Then, he injected his Mana into the sword, its blade shined as it was reinforced with Mana—

Sword Aura.

He activated the ability Veylara taught him all those weeks ago and then—

He dashed towards the incoming wave of enemies.

Slice Slice Slice Slice

With the Draconic Surge still activated, the only thing that could be seen properly was the sword flashing time and time again as it sliced through one enemy after another.

And Kael didn’t slice off arms or legs—

He was slicing heads.

He was only targeting the vital areas that would result in instant death.

With his Sword Aura activated, there was almost nothing most enemies could do to protect themselves, it didn’t matter whether they blocked it with their swords or shields, Kael’s sword sliced through it all.

The more enemies he sliced down, the more his CE increased, but he didn’t care, he just moved into the middle of the battlefield like a storm.

Until—

CLANG

One of the enemies who rushed towards him stopped his sword with his own.

Kael stopped, he looked at the enemy, then at the sword in his hand.

It was shining.

Sword Aura.

Well, it didn’t surprise him.

Sword Aura was rare since it required excessive training and hard work, but that wasn’t the reason many people in Heights couldn’t use it.

In fact, people here in Heights were far more hardworking than people he saw in the Main Land, it was just that these people had their hands filled with other important things like feeding their families—

So most of them couldn’t train.

As for those who only focused on training and training hard for the sake of their people—

They learned Weapon Aura as well.

And one such enemy was standing right in front of him.

Kael looked at him, at his eyes that didn’t have a shred of reason in them and he—

"I would have preferred a fairer battle."

He spoke calmly.

Of course, he knew the enemy didn’t listen, in fact, that was the reason he said that in the first place.

But since he didn’t exactly have the time to give a full monologue—

"For you, that is."

He spoke one sentence as he then dashed forward, the enemy slashed his sword in the most simple-minded, predictable way possible, Kael then stepped on the wind platform Cirri created for him and changed his angle mid-swing.

The simple-minded enemy stood no chance, his simple mind couldn’t even begin to comprehend what happened and just like that—

Kael’s sword moved past his and sliced his neck.

Thud

The man’s headless body fell down with a thud. As Kael watched it, he couldn’t help but feel pity, to think a man who gave all his life, training a skill like Sword Aura, a skill most beings could only dream of—

Only to fall off in such a vain, disgraceful manner...

Kael shook his head.

Then, his eyes moved towards something even more disgusting.

He levelled up.

That made him clench his sword...

To think he was levelling up by massacring humans now.

Soon however, he shook his head. It wasn’t like this was the first time it had happened, it happened back when he killed the Sky Kingdom soldiers, and then when he attacked the Stormcallers.

There was no point in acting like a Saint.

In the end, Kael just shook his head, raised his sword and accepted it as he dodged the incoming attack from a nearby enemy who lunged towards him.

The battle continued—

Kael continued to move like a storm, killing enemies with one slice after the other.

The more he killed, the more experience he gained, soon, he was covered in the blood of his enemies.

In just under a minute, three more enemies with Weapon Aura approached him, two of them actually came at the same time, but that didn’t change anything.

After all, the way Kael fought was already something most warriors, even with their sane minds, would have a difficult time keeping up with.

As for enemies who didn’t seem like they even knew where they were?

They practically stood no chance.

As he sensed the two warriors with Weapon Aura approach him from two different sides, he simply activated another one of his skills—

[Skill: Genesis Step]

He vanished from where he stood and appeared right next to one of the warriors—

The warrior in question couldn’t react.

Slice

Kael cut him down and—

With that, one was down.

Then, he appeared next to the second warrior and sliced him down as well.

For the last teleportation, he appeared in the area where most other warriors were facing the other side—

Then, without them knowing how he even appeared behind them, he began slicing them down.
