"Where did this little fellow come from?"
Kayden questioned as he looked at Kael.
Kael just smiled without saying anything and that made Kayden’s mouth twitch.
"You are not going to answer?"
"No."
Kayden felt like punching him, but he had seen what this man just did on the battlefield, the last thing he wanted was to face him right now.
So in the end, he could only swallow his frustration and—
"Hmph!"
He snorted.
Kael laughed.
Gruumak on the other hand, looked at her.
"Of course."
Gruumak looked at Eira with a serious expression and—
"Small deer god."
Kael almost choked.
"She is not—"
He tried to deny that but just then—
Aurelia and the other Sky Kingdom Soldiers arrived, rushing towards them as quickly as possible.
Unlike before, where they were only ’looking around’, now Aurelia had ordered them to move so they wouldn’t be starved.
"Move around!
Make the stalls, heal everyone you can!"
The Sky Serpent General gave the orders.
"Yes!"
The soldiers nodded.
They had done this before, so it was much easier this time, especially since the people were far more cooperative.
Kael also took out their Null Sanctuary Collars, so their beasts with healing powers came out as well.
Aurelia’s Hylia appeared as well, Aurelia set a stall for her where the injured soldiers were brought.
And with that—
The Sky Kingdom Soldiers started saving lives as well.
Aurelia on the other hand, walked to where Kael was and her eyes instantly fell on Eira healing multiple soldiers at once at a commendable speed, then on Kael next to her.
"She’s yours as well?"
Aurelia asked.
"Mhm."
Kael smiled as he gently patted Eira.
Aurelia didn’t miss how calm he sounded, it was almost as if... the war that happened, the death and destruction around, didn’t bother him.
Which was strange considering Kael was the type to be bothered by... well, most of it.
’Is he acting strong because of her...?’
Aurelia wondered.
She had never seen Eira before, she could however, see that the beast was quite young, so if she was his new Bond, it would make sense that he would try to act strong in front of her, so as to not make her panic.
Aurelia knew well how difficult it was to keep their Bonds from panicking, especially the young ones, and the young ones with healing powers were even worse.
’Young...’
Though when she watched Eira heal, the word young didn’t come to her mind. Those healing powers were not of a young Bond, they were comparable to a fully grown Healing-type Bond.
"Just... where do you find them all?"
"They find me."
Kael smiled.
"That must be what it means to be a Hero huh..."
Aurelia commented as she stopped thinking about it altogether.
The man had a literal Dragon as one of his Bonds, nothing more could surprise her any longer.
With Aurelia and the Sky Soldiers here, the situation slowly began to calm down, the dying were separated from the dead and were gathered near the healing areas.
The soldiers who could still move were ordered to help clear paths, gather weapons, and check for hidden artifacts.
Korvath took charge of the battlefield cleanup.
"Take the enemy bodies outside the Wall! Gather the Allies’ bodies for the last rites! Do not mix them!"
"Every tribe will receive their own dead. Their names will be counted, their families will be informed properly."
Morvain added as well.
The Translators translated those words.
"Dead deserve seeing."
Gruumak nodded once he heard the translation.
The others agreed, the soldiers continued to move, the sound of battle was now truly gone, there were no more screams, battle roars or weapons clashing with each other.
Only orders were being passed around, soldiers moved while some cried as they knelt next to their allies.
Morvain and others looked at the sight with grim looks on their faces, that was when Igni returned and landed carefully.
Kael looked at him, then at unconscious Lavinia on his back.
Her face was pale, her breathing was weak, Kael also looked at the spirits around her, all of them looked worried, Pyra and Sparky were already next to Kael, constantly pointing at Lavinia, as if telling him to do something.
Kael moved, then he stepped into the air, gently picked Lavinia up in his arms.
"Lavinia."
He called out in a light voice.
Lavinia didn’t answer, Kael clenched his jaws, trying to hide his expression but—
"Maa~"
Eira jumped, landing directly on Lavinia’s stomach so lightly that it barely moved her body.
"Eira, careful—"
Kael tried to say something, but Eira had already lowered her head, her soft green light spread again, all of it was now focused only on Lavinia.
The golden leaves around her antlers circled above Lavinia’s chest, the green threads of healing energy moved inside Lavinia’s body, healing her strained Mana Veins and calming the overexertion they were put through.
And the result was instant.
Lavinia’s fingers twitched, her breathing stabilised, then, she slowly opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was the adorable Eira standing on her.
"Maa~"
Eira smiled happily.
Lavinia stared at her for half a second, then, her expression softened.
"Eira..."
She spoke in a weak voice as a small smile appeared on her face.
Kael sighed, the lock on his heart finally released when he saw her smile, he could sense that she was weak but she was safe.
And that was all that mattered.
"You took your time..."
Lavinia complained as she looked at him.
"I apologise."
Kael tightened his hug around her and placed his forehead on top of her chest.
"You know I was only joking, right?"
The Dragonborn Princess questioned.
"I do."
Kael answered without moving.
Lavinia heard those words and... she remained silent. Speaking anymore wasn’t needed, honestly she didn’t have that much energy to spare either.
So she just closed her eyes again, feeling Kael’s warmth. Kael kept his head on top of her.
The silence stretched, no one interrupted them, Eira, still standing on Lavinia, looked between them with shining eyes, clearly pleased with herself.
Then, she jumped back on the ground and started healing the rest again.
